Sharia-compliant cross-border digital banking platform Nomo has partnered with investment service provider Allfunds to create a fully digital, Sharia-compliant investments proposition. Nomo Investments, available via the Nomo app, provides access to professionally managed global portfolios, to customers who are able to invest upwards of $1,000.
Nomo, with the support of Allfunds, has seen early success since launching the proposition. 1 in 3 customers who have completed the in-app investor personality questionnaire, which builds an understanding of customers’ risk appetite and investment goals, are going on to invest. Around 20% of users have also set up a regular monthly investment, while 58% of customers in the region have selected the Adventurous Portfolio, reinforcing the importance of customers selecting investments that align with their risk appetite and objectives.
Allfunds, one of the world’s largest fund distribution platforms, offers fund distribution alongside investment services such as model portfolios, fund analytics, and due diligence. Through its Nextportfolio digital investment solution, Allfunds enables Nomo to deliver a seamless, end-to-end investment journey, helping broaden access to professionally managed, Sharia-compliant portfolios while enhancing the customer experience.
This partnership follows research from Nomo which found a significant untapped opportunity for an investments proposition for customers in the GCC. Nomo found that the biggest motivator for investing more actively for GCC residents is not lower fees or better tools, but access to more personalised support.[1] Nearly two thirds (62%) of respondents said they would invest more if they had access to more educational content. Indeed, since launching the proposition, Nomo has noticed growing demand from customers in Kuwait and the UAE.
Oliver Green, Head of Nomo Investments, said:
“Allfunds have been an integral partner on the journey to creating a seamless digital platform that allows our customers to access professionally managed, Sharia-compliant portfolios. It’s great to be able to support GCC clients, who may have never thought of themselves as investors before, with access to this product, giving them the confidence to build wealth for the future.”
Licia Megliani, Head of Value Added Services for Allfunds, said:
“This partnership demonstrates the growing demand for digital-first investment solutions that combine convenience, personalisation and choice. Leveraging our Nextportfolio solution, Nomo is providing customers with access to professionally managed, Sharia-compliant portfolios through a seamless digital journey, helping drive greater participation in investing across the region.”
